**Hawkeyes News: Matt Gatens Joins Fran McCaffery's Coaching Staff** IOWA CITY, Iowa (WMT) - Former Hawkeye Matt Gatens has joined head coach Fran McCaffery's men's basketball coaching staff. Gatens, a four-year starter for the Hawkeyes from 2007 to 2011, has spent the past six seasons as an assistant coach at Wyoming. He rejoins Iowa after serving as a player development assistant under McCaffery during the 2011-12 season. "Matt is a great addition to our staff," McCaffery said in a statement.
