Former President Donald Trump Indicted

Grand Jury Alleges Criminal Conduct

Charges Include Fraudulent Statements and Obstruction of Justice

A federal grand jury has indicted former President Donald Trump on four felony charges related to his alleged involvement in a scheme to defraud multiple financial institutions by obtaining loans and insurance based on false and misleading financial statements.

According to the indictment, Trump, along with co-defendants Allen Weisselberg, former chief financial officer of the Trump Organization, and Jeffrey McConney, former controller of the Trump Organization, engaged in a years-long scheme to inflate the value of Trump's assets in order to secure more favorable loan terms and insurance coverage.

The indictment alleges that Trump and his co-defendants used a variety of fraudulent practices, including inflating the value of Trump's properties, misrepresenting the amount of debt he owed, and providing false financial statements to lenders and insurers.

Trump has denied any wrongdoing and has called the charges a "witch hunt" by political opponents. His lawyers have stated that they will vigorously defend him against the allegations.

The indictment is the culmination of a multi-year investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney's Office. It is expected that Trump will face trial in the coming months.
